Ah, the "ber" months are here again. In the past couple of years or so, the beginning of the "ber" months didn't usher in Christmas for me. I dreaded the first of September for I knew that once again, I would turn a year older. Turning a year older was not quite a good thing for me. All it did was put me into a state of depression. Nega kung nega. I've made several lists of things I wanted to do before I turned (insert age here).
Today, five days before I turn 26, I revisited those blog entries and found out that I pretty much achieved some of the things I've always wanted to. The secret, perhaps, to reaching those goals, is not thinking about them and not being too conscious about them.
Good things, indeed, come to those who wait (or do not wait and just live life one day at a time).
So here are the lists (
and what happened to the items there)
- Romatically hold hands with another man in public (carried over from the 24 list) (done, with the boyfriend)
- Get a boyfriend so I can do number 1. (We're turning 3 months on the 7th)
- Cruise a guy in public (who knows, this might lead me to number 2) (didn't happen)
- Gain weight and get fat. (gained a little weight)
- Drive my own car. (not happening in the next 5 years or so)
- Continue with long-overdue driving lessons so I can do number 5. (not happening, see above)
- Buy my own car (not happening, see #5)
- Organize my finances (slowly, getting there)
- Travel to a country that most people are not keen on visiting (does KK, Malaysia count?)
- Start a business (business/rackets acquired through blogging. also tried selling Avon - for a month - and sold e-load. lol)
- Get another promotion (didn't happen. not happening in the next few years)
- Become nicer to ugly people (Super nice to everyone now)
- Relaunch my website (http://baklaako.com going strong. plus new sites: http://myblogs.me, http://plurkk.com, http://gayevents-ph.biz, http://sinosila.blogspot.com [won as Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008], http://food.baklaako.com, http://photos.baklaako.com, http://goyadarkmint.blogspot.com)

- Learn French (Next year)
- Learn Spanish (taking lessons at Instituto Cervantes now)
- Write for a magazine again (uhm, any publishing company in need of a contributor?)
- Go on an MRT3-LRT-MRT2 adventure all in one day (get off and get on all stations for all three rails) (not happening soon)
- Go to Palawan (end of the year, hopefully. With the boyfriend)
- Buy a new laptop (uhm 13th month pay?)
- Read more books (bought a lot of David Sedaris and Gay Filipino Books)
- Be more updated with current affairs (watched Sarah Palin's speech at the RNC yesterday)
- Quit (!) Smoking (hah!)
- Add more vegetables to my list of "edibles" (have been secretly fed eggplants and okra and other veggies by the boyfriend)
- Appear on a TV game show as a contestant and win lots of money! (auditioned for one, didn't make it. lol)
