Two will be based on reissues, two will be based on iconic bags, and two will be brand new designs.
This cover of Women's Wear Daily for Japan should give us an idea.

I spy (clockwise from left), a modified Amazone (my first LV is an Amazone and I don't use it so out na yan), a multi-handled Speedy, some sort of bucket (can someone ID?) and a Papillon with charms.
From this preview, the Papillon looks cute, but the Speedy is most interesting. I hope there is a Speedy 35. I don't have a Speedy yet because it is so mainstream. But this Comme des Garçons Speedy is not mainstream so it rocks!
Now, if only I could see the next two bags she is coming up with so I can plan the trip to Japan.
(Thanks Ofaj!)

All things considered my life is moving in an interesting, some might say rewarding and wonderful, direction. True, I may not be same limbo of indifference that was me a week back, but it still feels that I am have lost a certain sense of drive. I find it hard to motivate myself to go to the gym. I find it hard to motivate myself to do anything other than play WoW (yes, I am still hooked on the game and would play at least an hour a day). Even then playing WoW is more out of habit than the pure joy of playing a computer game. Is it the lack of inspiration? Is it the lack of motivation? Is it the lack of stimulus? Is it just the weather or maybe the phase of the moon? Whatever it is, I sometimes imagine myself tearing away at whatever gunk that seems to have taken hold of my spirit.

Winston, my straight best bud, and I have a kind of unspoken understanding. We watch movies based on comic books together. Why? Well its because he is one of the few, let me rephrase that, he is the ONLY one I know that enjoys comics books as much as I do. We watch a movie and we get it. No need to explain the hidden nuggets in the movies, rather watching a comic book movie with him is like a game of "Where is Wally". It is not a question of "would he get that bit if he saw it" rather its "Did you see that (insert tribute to the comic book fans here)?", often with an elbow nudge. It adds to the enjoyment of the film. However, I did not catch "Wanted" with him. My fault, sure I was busy (with the usual stuff that wasn't actually important), but truth be known I just didn't feel like driving all the way to his side of the Metro just to watch the movie. Not with the escalating fuel prices (another weak argument, I know). Ok, I just didn't feel like it. I should really take better care of the people who care about me. I do tend to take them for granted sometimes.
*BTW, "Wanted" was a good movie...but it didn't compare to the comic book series.

I've done Seoul, now it's time to go exotic! I'm really interested to join if this is a safe, legit tour (and no visa stamped on my passport. Don't want to have an incriminating seal on my passport that will bar me from entering other countries, especially those in the Schengen territories.)Trip will be from September 17 to 24.
Whatchathink?
I assume that Rihanna is the good wonderful nice caring person that her fans say she is, and I am impressed by all the shiny awards she has. I also assume, that like any celebrity, she does a lot of good for freedom and justice and whatever. But I have always been extremely disturbed by the "ella ella e e e" part in Umbrella, her hit song.
I concede that the lyrics are thoughtful and catchy (and sappy and corny to some degree, like all contemporary popular music): "when the sun shines, we'll shine together / told you I'll be here forever" and "now that it's raining more than ever / know that we'll still have each other" and "these fancy things will never come in between / you're part of my eternity, here for infinity."
But I cringe each time I hear that "ella ella e e e" part.
It's like if John Lennon had sung:
Imagine all the people eepol eepol ee ee ee
Living for today oday oday o o o
Or if James Hetfield of Metallica had sung:
So tear me open but beware eeware eeware ee ee ee
There's things inside without a care eyar eyar ey ey ey
[That last bit sounds a bit like Jordin Sparks.]
I don't deny that I'm an old fogey with old-fashioned tastes when it comes to music.
UPDATE: I've had a rotten couple of days. Mostly spent walking around for hours looking for a taxi willing to move some of my boxes from one end of town to another. But Metallica fixed me and made me happy. Catharsis.

Which category are you?
Remember that 1,000,000th reader contest I had last week?
The 1st place winner, Wysgal, lives in Singapore and is arriving this week.
Because we weren't sure Wysgal would actually come to claim her prize, I decided to treat the second place winner just in case.
Met up with runner-up Jyn (L) at Pepper Lunch who brought her husband Pongs and pal Venice (R) who also joined the contest.

While I'm typing this and planning to hit the pillow soon due to a very sore eye, the three of them are probably busy at work. They are Sykes people!
Jyn told me how she won second place.
She and Venice asked three co-workers to refresh my website repeatedly until the site meter showed 999,999.
When Venice refreshed, he got 1,000,002.
Then Jyn refreshed and got 1,000,000! She made a screen cap immediately and emailed me this:
Had a great time with these lovely people at Pepper Lunch and they all cleaned their plates.

Thank you Pongs, Jyn and Venice for talking time off to see me. It was a pleasure and I hope to see you again, somehow in the same time zone.
(Thank you Paolo for the photos!)

Read all about it if you can.
Me, I got sore eyes. Please pray for me and have a good night.
Oh, oh, oh. That model on the right is Ria Bolivar. She could've appeared on WWD, but her head was cropped. Sayang.
All women should live so long as to be this kind of old lady!
Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"
Eighty percent held up their hands.
The Minister then repeated his question. "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?"
All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.
"Mrs. Neely, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any," she replied, smiling sweetly.
"Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you?"
"Ninety-eight," she replied.
"Oh, Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live 98 years and not have an enemy in the world?"
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said:

britney spears will be part of madonna's sticky & sweet tour! though she won't be with madonna live for her world tour, she is currently recording a video clip performance that they will be playing during maddy's tour. i love it. sayang i couldn't watch the sticky & sweet tour live!
in other news, she's currently in the studio working on an album with producer rodney jerkins. i love it that she's back. though they're really trashing her latest album, which i really really love, they said that this new one would be her best ever (just like what every artist say everytime they come out with a new album).
anyway, happy for britney and can't wait for the performance and the new album. oh, MTV is also inviting her to perform for the 2008 VMAs. resurrection? let's find out.

these are the dates i have to remember!!
Your very best day for romance will be July 6.
The evening of July 31 will be quite glamorous, too.
Watch for a superb career opportunity to surface from July 2 to 17.
You will impress your boss July 14 with the work you do.
Your home will be a hub of activity and require attention: July 18-20.
---------
Your best day for fun and love this month will be over the weekend of July 5-6, when Venus will be beautifully angled to Uranus. The moon will be in luxury and fun-loving Leo, so you're sure to have a good time. Leo relates so well to your sign!
(note: parang wala namang nangyari nung weekend na yun..)
Venus will help by moving into Leo too, from July 12 to August 6, a lovely, light influence that will allow you to find more time to see friends.
There are two other key dates for fun and love.
The other lovely romantic date to watch, July 22, will be best for single Libras - watch for a text message, IM, or surprise cell phone call to set your spirits soaring!

I received the message below from a friendly fellow from Toronto named Andrew:
James,
This is quite an interesting story, I hope you actually read this email. I have a profile on manjam.com and someone messaged me on there using your photos. I showed my good friend (who is really into pageants) the manjam profile, and he forwarded me your blog on which I saw the same photos this "impostor" had been using on his profile as well. His profile on manjam:

In case that link does not work, his nick name is "hotrod86". You may need to create an account to look him up.
Just wanted to let you know. I still think you are super hot, hope we can chat! you can msn me @ xyz@xyz.com
TTYL,
Andrew G
It amuses me that someone should use my photos for Manjam, a site that I hadn't even heard of until today, and even more so that the photos came from my blog! That must mean that my blog gets passed around a fair bit. It also delights me that the heads-up was given to me on Facebook, which means that Andrew, whom I haven't met before, recognized my face on Manjam from having seen my profile on Facebook.
Thanks, Andrew! You're a doll! Come visit HK some time and I'll introduce you to all the cutest boys. I'm sure they'll be excited to meet you!
OK, so my photos have now been posted on random profiles in Singapore, Manila and Toronto. Should I be creeped out?
With Affection,
Astron

2006? I call this set "Happiness." If only I hopped around during that time it would have been movie-esque.

Gold medal swimmer Natalie Coughlin wears the Speedo Team USA LZR Racer suit designed by Rei Kawakubo.
Kawakubo explains: "I was interested in expressing the energy and the power that comes from the spirit, embodied in the meaning of the calligraphy, together with the will to win for one's country, symbolized by the iconic flag of the USA. I am very honored and proud that Team USA will be performing in the pool in Beijing with this strong creative design."
