Feeding My Ego

When I was younger, I was always excited when the -ber months began.  Not because Christmas was just around the corner, but because I was going to turn a year older.  Over the years though, that excitement turned to anxiety, loneliness, and depression.  I've never had someone "special" to celebrate my "big day" with me.  Also, the strangest and most unfortunate incidents happened before, during, or after my birthday.  But more than that, I was anxious to turn a year older.  I hated the fact that when every year, on the 10th of September, I will move from one demographic to another. And now that I'm turning 24, anxiety, loneliness, and depression are at an all-time high. 24, sigh.

And to overcome anxiety, depression, and loneliness, I decided to feed my ego and re-read ALL my Friendster testimonials. It sure did help.  And here are my top 5 testimonials(In no particular order). (The rest of the Top 20 are in the cut) :)

this my artistic bro.singing lang ang tinanggihan nyang talent sa diyos. very forthright tsaka fearless. the only apo na kayang humindi sa nambubulyaw na lolo. and he gets away with it. tigas ulo nito. very creative naman. he was able to organize a theater group in the village even before he attended school. kumita pa. ah oo nga negosyante to. never told him i am proud of him. i am.

Tina Posted 21/6/2004AJ.. a creature unlike any other. the only person i know who's more vain than me. incredibly creative.. i owe this guy BIG TIME-- he effortlessly made all my dreams come true! (dude, im sure you know what im talking about).. i miss hanging out with him, simply because he's one of the select few who's actually got substance. trust that conversations with him will forever be interesting. i miss this sexy-artsy-fartsy dude!

Glenn
Glenn Posted 12/10/2003i don't see the necessity of this  testimonial.. if AJ's your friend - or even if you just met him - his demeanor gives away everything and you feel like you've known him forever. uhmm.. okay, maybe i'm exaggerating.. he has a few secrets of his own ;p whatever they are, bottomline is this: the dude's great to be with; parties seem a tad boring without his presence.. and i mean it! he's been a smashing friend to me, and i'm sure all you guys here can relate. Clever, honest, kind, pogi.. i could go on forever! However, vanity is a plague that hits us all, and none more so than Aj! :) heheh.. i swear, all you see in his phone are pictures of himself in a pose. :p ..i don't blame him, though. chick boy yan e! :) take care, duude! see ya around!

Trisha Posted 9/11/2003si AJ?! hmmmm??! super friendly! first time i met him sa dressing room ng ABS CBN, feeling close na kami hehe! if i remember right, he was wearing a trench coat, talagang kasama sa porma nya yun! and he's sooo nice and generous - one time (at band camp?!) i was just asking for a couple of yosi sticks for my friends, and he gladly gave them a WHOLE pack! kung nagyoyosi lang ako, baka nakiyosi na ako sa sobrang pagkatouch kow! he has lots of stuff in his bag, like an extra shirt, kitkats(syempre!), etc, and you'd be surprised to find out that he even has a concealer! hehe! and you should always be ready to laugh with this guy coz he's so funny! see yah later, crocs! hehehe! =)

Lynda
Lynda Posted 21/5/2006I don't know what's in him...maybe it's his voice, the way he carries himself or talagang iba lang ang level ng powers nya (siyempre, magka-level kami). Kaya nga he's my soulmate... I first met AJ sa UP Min. Grabeh, ang patpatin nya nun..kinda snabero at first nga eh..lakas ng personality nya...(kaya nga click agad kami!)
My fashion critique...(lalo na mang okray ng outfit!)
Partner in crime...(ka-gimik, ka-party, ka-org, ka-grupo, kaklase, ka-chikahan)
Bestfriend...
Ang naudlot kong boyfriend (d nya ksi ako sinagot nun eh! hehe)
Si Ariel James...vain, magaling, matalino, macho(?), gwapo...basta, lahat na!
Never a dull moment with this guy. Swerte ko nga may AJ ako (unang tikim yata to! hehe)..
AJ wants action all the time.Hindi mo yan makikitang nakatunganga.Despite his very outgoing personality AJ is a fragile soul.Ul know it when u get 2 know him better sa likod ng mga tawa at pangungulit nya..ul definitely keep this gem in your vault..kaya mahal ko yan!:)

Tricia
Tricia Posted 16/10/2003There's a certain reverence that follows this guy around; perhaps it's because in his able hands lie the wellbeing of one of the most sought-after bands in the country. Yet, on second thought, it may also probably be because he has gained for himself his very own fan club in the process of managing those guys. How he keeps sane while looking after his wards, appeasing giddy fans, expanding his Friendster network, appearing on magazine features AND sculpting his hair into his signature spike at the same time baffles me. Well whatever it is, it's made AJ a character to watch out for...

TWTW - The Week That Was

surf's up
This week has been very toxic at work. Most of the stuff I did fell under the category of Other Tasks (as assigned) and Client Satisfaction.  Wednesday and Thursday were the most stressful. I got to work earlier than usual (9pm to 930pm as opposed to my normal 11pm start-of-shift) on those two days.  I normally eat lunch with Cockers [[info]justkakers] nickichie [[info]anickdote] and Alex at around midnight or at 1am.  But we all were busy with our own work shiznit. Thursday was the worst of them all!  I ate my first meal of the day at 6AM.  For people who work the day shift, 6AM sounds regular, normal breakfast - but not for someone who started their day at 8PM the previous night. But I'm not complaining.

Friday morning was HOT! Literally! We went to the 1st SM Mall of Asia (SAMOA) Job Fair to support (pro bono) our HR Team in the recruitment.  The fair was held at the gigantic open-air Music Hall of Samoa - sans airconditioning(duh, open-air!) and with hundreds (thousands?) of people flocking to the different booths of different companies. I had fun though!  What was a very quiet and semi-deserted booth instantly turned into a lively "entertainment" area.  What with the quirkiness and loud voices of the Training Team (Jopai [[info]jp2reyes], Hayris [[info]ayrisgreyz], Chuki [[info]chukibear], GJ, Cockers plus Chin-chin aka Sandara.  It was a riot! We sure did get people to flock to our booth to sign up and talk to us about the company.  Thanks to lines like:
"Apply today and start working on Monday!"
"No age limit."
"Work with us and get chances of winning a brand new car!"
"Work with fun people!"
After our stint at the fair, I had to buy something else to wear since I was literally drenched in sweat!  I would have loved to hang out at Samoa but I decided to leave with Jopai and the Cybergang.  I figured I'd just go home and sleep since I've been up since the previous night.  After Jopai dropped me off at Ayala, plans have changed.  Since it was payday and I had some extra cash to spare for a new pair of jeans, I decided to go to Glorietta, buy a pair of jeans and head home.  But no! There was a mallwide sale! I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of dress shoes for work and a shirt.  I figured that since my birthday(Sept. 10th, FYI) did not fall on a payday (or close to it), I would buy myself gifts on that same day.  So I also ended up buying a dresser and a full-body mirror! Happy Birthday to me!

Met up with Imman [[info]imman] and watched a supposed suspense movie called Stay Alive.  The lead actor was cute (teehee). The movie failed to make me jump out of my seat and scream like a girl, but it did make me laugh a lot.  Thanks to individuals getting surprised and screaming by themselves at odd parts of the movie!  Thanks a lot as well to people who covered their ears when a "scary" scene begins to unfold.

Got home Friday night feeling like a zombie since I've been up for more than 24 hours already.

Gawd, 24 is a number I'm kind of scared right now. I'm turning 24 in 8 days, and I feel like i haven't done enough to make MY world a better place.  Estrus! I've decided that from this birthday moving forward, all birthdays I celebrate will be labeled my 24th Birthday.
