A Hat

So we're nominated for the Rainbow Bloggers Philippines' Rainbow Blog of the Week. Now on its fifth week, the RBP's Rainbow Blog of the Week is "the most anticipated competition in the world of blogging parrots."

This week is a fierce competition and I'm actually not expecting to win since I'm up against very prolific and well-known bloggers. There's my friend The Bakla Review, The (HOT) Vegan Prince, and Lezfriendly. So I will not be campaigning and asking you to support Bakla Ako, May Reklamo, I'll leave it up to you. Besides, I myself can't even decide who to vote for. Charing.

One thing I can say though is that I'm quite happy with how the Rainbow Bloggers Philippines is turning out. Kudos to the original parrots who came up with this idea.

Also, the current influx of members and readers is a good sign that we can make it happen! I have high hopes that for this year's Pride March, we will have a better (read: more people in the contingent) representation under the Rainbow Bloggers and Friends Banner!

Now that we have more members and more people know about us, we can definitely be there and join the Pride March in December!

For those of you who are interested, you can still volunteer to become a member of Task Force Pride (click here to view registration/volunteer form).

The 2nd General Assembly is set for Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 7PM to 9PM at BED Bar, Malate. You can also bring your friends who are part of the LGBT Community or are LGBT Friendly who would like to help us plan for the 2009 Manila Pride March. To find out more about Task Force Pride, visit the official page here.

ctujumpbag.jpgIf you take a look inside my bag,you would definitely want to turn it upside down and clear it of dirt, dust and grime (huh?). I love bags because I feel like they serve as security blankets to me. I own so many bags that it’s not funny anymore. Like with my shoes, I would have a favorite bag of the season and use it for all eternity, until I realize that I have other bags in the closet.  That or until I buy a new bag.  I’m not a big fan of expensive stuff or signatures, but if I think it is practical enough to own one, I would invest on it.

My bag for this season is my trusty faux vintage leather manpurse (or murse, as others would call it).  I like this bag because it fits, well, almost everything I need. The only problem is that it all ends up cluttered since it only has a few pockets and compartments.  And Brad (that’s my bag’s name - courtesy of Ish) also serves as a laptop bag on occasions when I don’t feel like my laptop bag wouldn’t be too fasyon (as If no?).  And since Brad wasn’t built to be a laptop bag, he failed me on more than one aj-31.JPGoccasion, giving scratches to the laptop’s surface (uhm, I don’t really mind, really…).

Ever since I was in grade school, I was always fascinated with bags.  And I would get so attracted to bags with millions of compartments.  You know those bags which have slits and pockets for pens, pencils, crayon boxes, lunch packs, and what-have-yous.  Over the years, sa I matured (beautifully, charot!), I have come up with a few things that a bag must have before I buy it: practical and affordable, value for money, comfortable, durable, a little fasyon, and of course presentable.

My current [branded] laptop backpack has it all.  Only thing is, it’s already heavy on its own and it’s quite off to bring it along with me while wearing a coat and tie, right? This is actually teh reason why I use that backpack for my laptop only when I travel.  As for everyday life right now, Brad serves me just fine.

Last Friday, I was invited to the press launch (organized by GeiserMaclang) of Timbuk2’s Blogger Bag - along with other bloggers ( NoemiLauren, Jayvee, Shari, Rick, Karla, LuisRiz, Anton, Karla) last Friday at Outback restaurant.  This bag elicited mixed reactions not only from the bloggers who were at the launch but also from the blogosphere.

Are you a Filipino with a blog worth noticing? Think you got what it takes to be called one of the Philippines’ best bloggers?

Submit your blog now!

Nominate your blog for the Special Awards!

The awarding is open to all Filipino bloggers who have full ownership of their blogs. This implies that blogs belonging to blog networks or corporate blogs cannot be included because of ownership rights. The awards therefore pay homage to “grassroots bloggers” who have built up their blogs from their own efforts.

Check out the Philippine Blog Awards home for more information :)
