Last Week, The Weekend and the Week Ahead

surf's up

Last week was a very exhausting yet fun week for me. After getting excited and jiggy over the fact that I was gonna see Batanes, and getting disappointed upon finding out that the flight was canceled, and getting excited again upon learning that we were gonna be flown to Boracay instead of Batanes, and after nights of booze-loading, eye-candy-slurrping, and celebrity-elbow-brushing, my body finally gave up and said it couldn't take it anymore.

Saturday morning, I joined some Fabulous People of Training at [info]xtianxtianxtian    and [info]theamazingchase    's place for a big breakfast welcome for [info]maimahalay    's and lovey Lester's new doggie, Kelso, a Lasang Aso (Lhasa Apso). With us were Sara Kaye, Ice, [info]kitchengod    and [info]grimlock88    , [info]phoebe_jacq    and Noel. As usual I was alone by my lonesome self again as Ernie couldn't make it. He, too, was flat tired.

And then it was downhill from there. I slept for about 14 hours or so Saturday night, missing out on Miss World and the Eviction of Victor Basa from the Pinoy Big Brother House. Woke up early Sunday morning to finish my online backlogs and then went walking around the neighborhood, as I usually do on Sundays. Had Champorado with Danggit for Lunch. Then slept again from 5pm yesterday to around 4am today.

What's there to look forward to beyond this biting Monday morning cold breeze? They say it's typical, yes stereotypical. But no! I have to get ready by 8am and head to Ortigas. I need to have my business cards printed before heading to the Grand Press Conference of the movie Batanes (Love Knows No Borders). I'm hoping to get a short video interview with Ken Chu and Sid Lucero. Hot!

The weekend is gonna be really busy again. There's the Cine Veritas Human Rights Film Festival at the UP Film Institute (Dec 3 to 8), December 4 is Task Force Pride Night. Then there's the Pride March on Saturday, December 8 (converging point will be at Rajah Sulayman Park in Malate at 3pm) - which I will not be able to go to due to a prior commitment. I will be flying to Lanuza, Surigao on December 7 for an event and will be back on the 9th. Goodluck na lang sa scheduling.

I've also been contemplating on moving to another company or finding another job, but I don't have the time to even think of options. Much less, time to actually look for opportunities. I'm still happy where I am and with what I'm doing but my inner self just wants to break out and break away. So maybe, after the holidays, I'll know for sure if I wanna leave or stay. But I'm pretty sure my other self will choose to stay. I think the only reason I'd move is if I was gonna move to Google, which is like reaching for the stars. Good luck naman with that!

It's Christmas. The cool simoy ng Pasko is here. And yes, for the 25th year in a row, I'll be a member of the SMP - Samahan ng Malalamig ang Pasko. But I'm not complaining. At least hindi magastos sa regalo.
